This morning Sims was sporting a new look - a goatee, which was made of yogurt. I guess you could call it a yogurtee.
He even had a yogurt-stache.
Mom and Smith are visiting this weekend and came into town last night. We're all going to the homecoming parade tonight, which will be Sims first parade. We'll see how he likes it. Who knows what the rest of the weekend holds? (Maybe a yogurt beard...)

Date night
Jason's parents spent the weekend with us and were nice enough to take care of Sims so Jason and I could have a date night. We went to the members' opening reception at the art museum. With the reopening of their "old" building, they also were opening 5 new art exhibits. It was so much fun to be able to get a little gussied up and have a date night.
The art was also wonderful. I love John James Audubon, so I was thrilled to see some of his work. The Norman Rockwell exhibit was really interesting. They had copies of all of his Saturday Evening Post covers. There had to be hundreds of them spanning 30 years or so. Bob Trotman's sculptures were fascinating in a modern art meets Office Space kind of way. It's also really neat that he lives in my hometown (or least nearby) and his wife was one of my 8th grade teachers, who I loved.
The weather was cold this weekend, and it was rainy off-and-on on Saturday. Needless to say, we didn't do much except for the art museum. We all just hung around the house, which was nice!

Fore! Halloween
Our little golf pro was all ready for the British Open or at least some trick-or-treating.
We went trick-or-treating to a few houses with some of the neighborhood kids. Sims tried so hard to keep up with the big kids and liked picking candy out of the bowls to put in his bucket, even though he doesn't even know what candy is. He has about 10 pieces of candy now, and Jason and I are happy to take that off of his hands! Maybe he'll get to try some of the candy next year.
His plus fours quickly became pants as his socks slid down, but he was still the cutest golfer I've ever seen!
Sims, also, got a chance to wear his costume at his school's fall festival on Friday afternoon, but I didn't get any good pictures. Just imagine him with a bunch of 1 year olds dressed as a UPS man, CEO, ladybug, dinosaur, witch, etc. It was very cute!
On Halloween we also took Sims to the airport's observation park. He loves airplanes, so we knew he would love watching the planes take off and land. Boy, were we right! He pitched quite a fit, when it was time to leave.
I guess we'll have to make another trip to the airport soon!

Silly Sims
Just a few pictures of Sims before we went to church on Sunday. He is such a ham!
And here he is running to the camera to see what the picture looks like.
This kid loves the camera!

Pumpkin Patch
Saturday morning we took a trip to Durham to go to Ganyard Hill Farm. They have a lot of activities for children, but the big draw is the pumpkin patch. Sims loved it! We took a lot of pictures, so be prepared for picture overload.
The farm had goats, pigs and cows. Sims had never really seen any of these animals in real life, besides the passing cow along the side of road. He loved the goats. They were the only ones that showed him attention, and he was so excited to be able to touch and feed them.
The farm usually has a corn maze, and they even have one for the small kids made in the sorghum field. Because of the drought this summer, the corn and sorghum didn't make it, but we enjoyed the walk anyway.
In the barn, they had a large corn pit set up. I'm surprised we didn't find corn all over him afterward.
We all went on a hayride around the farm.
We picked cotton.
Then it was finally time to go to the pumpkin patch and pick out pumpkins.
I think this may have to be a yearly tradition. I bet Sims will love it even more next year.

An ordinary evening
Nothing special happening at our house this week, but here are some pictures of Sims before bedtime last night.
Sims loves to have his picture taken. As soon as I take a picture of him, he runs to the camera to see the picture. He points at himself and sometimes lovingly head-butts his picture. I don't exactly understand the head-butting thing. Maybe he got that from the cats? Isaac likes to show his affection by head-butting me. Speaking of Isaac, here is a photo of him last night.
Graham was nowhere to be found, of course, since Sims was running around.
